Why the World is Moving Toward Digital As-Builts (DABs)
- FHWA will cover the purpose and goals of the EDC-6 Digital As-Builts (DABs) Initiative, along with resources available for your implementation support. Guest presenters will provide current state of the as-built practices information and how the world and the U.S. are transitioning to DABs as part of digital project delivery.
- The speakers will overview findings from FHWA’s recent applied research project, which included DABs pilot projects with two DOTs - UT and PA. They will overview predominant DABs use cases most relevant today, along with benefits, purpose for data collection, data content captured, potential post-construction uses and some more common technologies deployed. With the primary goal to assist our stakeholders' expedited deployment, the webinar will overview barriers and implementation strategies to overcome them.
- This is the first in a series of eight (8) webinars on digital as-builts. Future webinars in the series, along with peer exchanges and workshops will provide further details to support your implementation efforts.
